FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Do you believe cosmetic doctors are charging too little for their services?
A: It has been PUMC's experience that many doctors are reluctant to increase their fees. They play it safe by staying in the middle of the price ranges in their respective communities. However, as consumers, we all have been in a position where we are willing to purchase quality services and products at "premium" prices. The higher the price points the more perceived value. (See following question.)
Q: My practice has a good volume of patients. Is it a good idea to increase my fees?
A: You may be working at capacity but need the benefits of a bump in income as a hedge against inflation. It's time to determine if you are getting the best return on your investment! You should ask if some of your "big ticket" services/procedures are optimally priced.
Q: Can you compete in a competitive market where other providers are discounting their fees?
A: Competition seldom hurts practices that offer what patients want. Next, use a marketing system that gets to new patient before your competition does. Educate prospective patients on your unique values. Establish your authority and the quality services you provide. Use a sales-trained staff, fortified website copy, videos, patient reviews, before and after photos and more to tell your story.
