Google Ads
If you’re like most doctors, you don’t have the time to follow the changes in Google’s algorithm. Most of our clients are busy surgeons that even eat on the run. That’s why they call on PUMC to help them optimize their social media, website SEO and online visibility.
Some doctors simply don’t have the funds to hire an Internet marketing agency. So they go the DIY (do it yourself) route. If you are one of those doctors, below are some tips.
How to improve SEO
Content: You can’t improve SEO without relevant content that attracts potential patients to your site. Simply having pages on different plastic surgery procedures isn’t enough. You need regular updates. Blogs are ideal for adding fresh content to your website. Plus, you can include pictures, videos, links, charts, etc. You can get a lot of bang for your time with blogs by posting to your social media sites and including in email blasts. Yoast is an excellent way to help you optimize SEO for blogs.
Keyword Phrases: Most plastic surgery website already have keywords for the different surgeries. For example, you most likely have a page with the keyword facelift if you are a facial plastic surgeon. When writing blogs, use keyword phrases instead of reusing existing keywords. Staying with the same example, you may want to talk about facelift recovery or facelift candidates. Using phrases allows you to build upon a single keyword without being redundant. Keyword phrases can improve SEO.
Mobile Site: Google announced that a mobile-friendly site is a must for search position. They have links available on their site for guidelines and testing web pages.
Load Time: If your page is slow to load, Google may penalize your search ranking. However, most people aren’t willing to wait for a page to load in today’s world. There’s plenty of information out there, so they will click off and go elsewhere. Check your speed.
While this isn’t a comprehensive list to improve SEO, these are things that you can do or test yourself if you have time. No time or simply not Internet savvy? Contact our experts at PUMC.
